Loris Belcastro is a researcher of computer engineering at the University of Calabria, Italy. He received a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Calabria. In 2012 he held a scholarship at the Institute of High-Performance Computing and Networking of the Italian National Research Council (ICAR-CNR).

He is in the editorial boards of several journals, including Journal of Supercomputing (SPRINGER), SN Computer Science (SPRINGER), Journal of Autonomous Intelligence. He served as a guest editor for numerous journals, such as Future Generation Computer Systems (SPRINGER),  Journal of Big Data (SPRINGER), Sensors (MDPI), Algorithms (MDPI), Applied Sciences (MDPI), and Frontiers in Big Data.
